There are plenty of powerful gaming smartphones currently on the market and some are set for release later this year. We’ve chosen our top 5 favourite gaming smartphones of 2016 so far:

LG G5

Gaming Smartphones

LG is a phone manufacturer that has always targeted the gaming crowd with its phones, something that it continues to do with the G5. It has added a new and more powerful processor in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Processor model, which will ensure that you could work your way through Modern Combat 1-5 in one night without a problem. The screen is very good for gaming purposes as well, 5.3” in size and HD 4K, providing top-notch visual quality. Throw in a removable battery with 2800 mAh lifespan and the potential for up to 128GB internal games storage and you have one of the truly brilliant gaming smartphones of 2016.

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge

This is another smartphone that is ideal for those who want to play games – either location-based mobile games like Pokémon GO or more graphic-intensive games like Real Racing. It features a 3.5 GHz Exynos processor to ensure smooth performance and speed, as well as a fine 5.5” screen for visual impact. There is 4GB of RAM available with this model to help prevent problems with lagging when playing the really graphics-heavy games on it.

HTC 10

Again this smartphone has come equipped with an ultra-powerful processing chip – in this case the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 model, making it capable of playing games at a speed of 3.5GHz.

It also features the same 4GB RAM offered by the Galaxy S7 edge, so again performance lagging will not be an issue, even with games like Badlands that boast ultra-sophisticated graphics. Another reason this is one of our favourite gaming smartphones, is that it comes with Quick Charge technology enabling you to play for longer without having to wait for it to charge for hours.

Google Nexus 6P

The Google Nexus 6P is one of those gaming smartphones that offers an all-round gaming package, containing a strong Snapdragon 810 processor and the excellent Adreno 430 graphics processor – making it more than capable of handling everything from Real Racing to Badlands.

The 3GB RAM may not be quite as much as some of the other gaming smartphones on this list, but the Nexus 6P’s trump card lies in its stunning 5.7” screen display complete with AMOLED tech. This means high grade games look amazing on it.

iPhone 7

We’re expecting the release of Apple’s latest iPhone offering this week. We’re sure, as previous iPhone models, the rumoured iPhone 7 will be a great addition to the gaming smartphones lineup for 2016.

Every one of these are all-round great smartphones and gaming smartphones, with the G5 just edging it to the front in terms of the overall specs.
