Last week Apple finally revealed its new iPhone range, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The new iPhone was plagued by rumours and speculation long before its September 7th reveal, much like its predecessors. However, the new iPhone has many remarkable differences to previous iPhone models that might make it very attractive for those in the market for a new premium smartphone.

Here are 5 things the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus can do that your older version iPhones can’t.

Longer Battery-Life

The latest flagship phone from Apple will be able to last 2 hours longer than its predecessor. The new iPhone is capable of lasting up to 14 hours on Wifi and the iPhone 7 Plus is said to last for up to 15 hours.

Twice As Loud

Apple revealed that the new iPhone models will come with stereo speakers. These new flagship smartphones are, according to Apple, twice as loud as older models.

No New iPhone Headphone Jack

Apple changed the tech game once again by revealing that its latest range of iPhones will ship without the standard headphone jack which has been part of the design for many years. The new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will instead connect via Bluetooth to Apple’s latest wireless AirPods or other wireless headphones. Another option is to connect wired headphones via an adapter which plugs into the lightning port.

This is not Apple’s first major design change with the tech giant changing the iPhone’s charging port to a lightning port.

The new iPhone models are rated IP 67 under IEC standard 60529, making both dust-resistant and water-resistant for up to 1 meters.

Better Cameras

Both the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have received major camera updates. The new bigger Plus model stands out with its dual-cameras on the back which let users choose between wide-angle and telephoto lens shots. Both new iPhones will have cool camera software, allowing users to take their iPhone picture-taking to the next level. The iPhone 7 comes with optical image stabilisation too.

BONUS: Two New iPhone Colours

Apple revealed that the latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will come in two new colour options, Black and Jet Black. Apple ditched the Space Grey option, with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus coming in Rose Gold, Gold, Silver, Black and Jet Black colour options.
