South African mobile network provider, Cell C has announced an online reality show called Break The Net which could see a lucky winner walking away with a R250 000 cash prize and a trip to Hollywood.

The online reality show will see 30 contestants enter 1 minute long online videos to see who gets the most views online. The submission dates for videos for this online reality show runs from today (15 September 2016) to 15 October 2015. The actual online reality show will air from 16 October 2016 to 11 December 2016.

The online reality show will feature online South African influencers like Suzelle DIY, Theodora Lee and Ofentse Mwatse, with Derek Watts and the Sunday Blues as anchors of the online reality show. Radio personality and comedian, Darren Whackhead Simpson will be online reality show’s Taskmaster.

Download the Cell C Reality app for iOS or Android > #BreakTheNet > Enter Competition > Create Profile > Upload 1 min Video.

How the online reality show will work:

The contestants will be given five video challenges presented by Darren Whackhead Simpson as the Taskmaster. The contestant will then have 48-hours come up with a viral video idea, which they will upload onto YouTube. The winner will be the contestant whose video has received the most amount of views.

But not only contestants stand a chance to win, as users of the Cell C Reality App can earn Cell C reward points for watching, sharing and liking videos from the online reality show contestants. These reward points can be redeemed for Cell C data. Cell C CEO, Jose Dos Santos explains the importance of the new online reality show:
