The company has officially changed its name to Snap Inc. and in more exciting news has released awesome and innovative wearables, called Snapchat Spectacles.

There have been attempts in the past by companies like Google to introduce eye wearables in the form of Google Glass, but Snapchat Spectacles might be the smart sunglasses everyone starts wearing.

The company says it has been working hard for the past few years to perfect the Snapchat Spectacles. Snapchat Spectacles are described by newly named Snap Inc. as “sunglasses with an integrated video camera that makes it easy to create Memories“. The wireless video cameras used in Snapchat Spectacles are the smallest in the world and you’ll be able to choose between three different colour options to suit your style.

Snapchat Spectacles are able to capture up to a day’s worth of snaps on a single battery charge and are charged in a stylish carry case. These new wearables from Snap Inc. will connect directly to the Snapchat app on your smartphone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Snapchat Spectacles will transfer your Memories directly into the Snapchat app on your smartphone in a new circular video format. These new circular videos you capture with your Snapchat Spectacles play full screen on any device they are transferred to, in any orientation. The idea of Snapchat Spectacles is to capture the human perspective with an 115-degree field of view.

There’s no official launch date for the Spectacles yet, but the company claims these new wearables will be available soon.
