Cape Town-based paranormal investigators, CTPI, use an array of paranormal activity gadgets to attempt to explain the wonderfully weird.
Founded in 2014 by Marc Leitao, CTPI, seeks to uncover what’s behind strange and weird occurrences and to do so the investigators use many self-made paranormal activity gadgets and devices. The devices and paranormal activity gadgets used by the investigators are usually built from scratch. Because many paranormal activity gadgets seen on popular TV shows are used by American investigators, the CTPI team have been forced to create their own devices and develop their technology and techniques. The CTPI team, for instance, build their own detectors/gauges and customise their own cameras to be able to handle the range of spectra that their devices and paranormal activity gadgets need to record in.
The team has an extensive paranormal activity gadgets kit, which includes:
- EMF detectors;
- Digital Audio Recorders;
- Full HD, full spectrum cameras;
- Static Cameras;
- Infrared DSLR Cameras;
- Laser Grids;
- Motion Sensors;
- Torches (miscellaneous spectrum);
- Spectre Cameras;
- Infrared Illuminators (custom built);
- Power Arrays;
- EM Pimps,
- SB7 Spirit Boxes;
- Infrared Thermometer Gauges;
- Kinext Sensors.
CTPI use these paranormal activity gadgets and devices to either determine and document, or disprove the presence of paranormal activity. The team combines customised paranormal activity gadgets and devices with scientific methodology to come to calculated conclusions.
Founder, Marc Leitao explains:
People have real fears, this is someting we’ve found along the way, and whilst there is still a stigma attached to dicusssing their stories or experiences, we find that more than not, most people have a story to tell.
CTPI receive messages or calls for assistance on a daily basis and after meticulously researching the history surrounding a site, the group of investigators will enter a location and use their paranormal activity gadgets and scientific methods to carry out their investigation. Paranormal activity investigations can take up to several hours and sometimes the team has to return to the location to carry out additional investigations. Once all the evidence and information that has been gathered is reviewed by the team, it is presented to the client and the possibility of paranormal presence is either confirmed or disproved.
All of these paranormal activity gadgets and the time it takes to perform the on-site investigations, history research, review of evidence, etc. doesn’t come cheap and CTPI doesn’t charge their clients. Rather, the group is appealing to the community to fund them to find the truth through Thundafund.com.
Since it started out, CTPI has been able to use their paranormal activity gadgets and methods to investigate very interesting claims of unexplained activity in homes, schools, popular and well-known establishments and hospitals.
