Pokemon GO Trainers love to walk as that’s what the popular Pokemon mobile game is all about. You have to get up and physically look for Pokemon to catch and Pokestops to collect Pokemon GO items. Also, Trainers need to rack up the kilometers to hatch Pokemon from eggs and to earn candies with their Pokemon Buddy.

To show just how popular the mobile game is amongst Pokemon GO Trainers, Niantic has announced that Pokemon GO Trainers have walked over 8.7 billion kilometers collectively. Back in September, it was revealed that Pokemon GO Trainers have walked more than 4.6 billion kilometers since the mobile game launched. But now, as of 07 December 2016, Pokemon GO Trainers have walked a massive 8.7 billion kilometers since the mobile game was launched.

This means that Pokemon GO Trainers have walked so much that they could make 200 000 trips around the Earth. It would take a commercial jetliner 1 000 years to catch up with the distance covered by Pokemon GO Trainers.

Along with walking close to 9 billion kilometers, Pokemon GO Trainers have caught 88 billion Pokemon. That means that Pokemon GO Trainers have caught roughly 533 million Pokemon a day since the launch of the popular mobile game.

These stats are pretty impressive, but not that surprising as the popular mobile game took the world by storm. With new events being released and updates rolling out constantly, it doesn’t look like Pokemon GO Trainers are slowing down anytime soon.
