Resident Evil 7 is no walk in the park. Rather a walk through a madhouse filled with a delusional, if not insane family that get joy from sawing your limbs off with a chainsaw. Yes, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is not for the light-hearted, and while we say that, we decided to get our grandmothers involved in the game, and put them through the first part of Resident Evil 7, in PlayStation VR.
While Grannie Rene was more worried about the garden and who tends to it, we proved to Grannie Natalie that even if you think you are immune to horror because you watch dozens of movies, playing a horror game in VR is a completely different ball game. Both ladies got a bit nauseous in the beginning due to the VR experience, and maybe partly due to how gruesome and scary Resident Evil 7 is.
We don’t want to spoil anything, but Resident Evil 7 is very scary, and we can barely play it on the TV without a headset, so we take our hats off to these ladies for doing an awesome job! If you want to know how scary the game can be, check out when we let gamers play the beta version and they got so scared they ran out of the house. And this is without VR too, making our Grannies real troopers.
For the first time in the Resident Evil series, the game has moved away from the original characters in the series. Resident Evil 7 takes places four years after the events of Resident Evil 6, in a location never touched on by the series before, Louisiana. You take on the role of Ethan, a man who is searching for his wife after she supposedly gets abducted by a hillbilly family called The Baker Family
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is out now on PS4, PS VR, Xbox One, and PC.
