Affordable, comfortable, and sounds good too. This is what you will find in the Logitech G533 wireless headset. Logitech has always been on top of its game when it comes to great heaphones, and the Logitech G533 is no different.
The Logitech G533 is pretty basic when it comes to the design. No flashing light, no LED strip going down the sides, and no faceplates to swap out. You won’t find anything over-the-top here, just a simple headset.
Its foam headrest is comfortable, while its ear cups provide decent noise reduction, and comfort at the same time. On the outside of the device, you will see the iconic Logitech symbols in gloss, with the model number running up the side.
On the left side there is a retractable mic that can be pushed back up and slides back in for space saving. You will also find the controls on the same side for muting, volume, and the power off/on toggle. The only issue we had with it is that it does not have a 3.4mm audio port, which eliminates this product for console gaming, as well as mobile phones. The only issue we had with the Logitech G533 was the lack of the port, which meant that it was a PC-only device, and was restricted to that use.
We tested the Logitech G533 while playing a few games like Overwatch, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and The Witcher 3, and we were very happy with the results. The different profiles let us choose between different sound factors that made a massive impact on the game we were playing. Surround sound was vital to every game we tried, and it was awesome. To hear the enemy’s footsteps behind us in Overwatch, so we knew where they were coming from, helped us get the upper hand in the game.
The DTS 7.1 surround sound, and the equalizer made every game, and every sound superb. There were also sound presets we could choose from that let us automatically set the headset to MOBA for example, and the sound levels were balanced enough to appreciate the sound. While in a chat, the microphone never got a complaint from anyone we played with. No harsh “p”s, thanks to the built-in pop filter on the mic. The only thing we did notice, was the mic had to be pretty close to your mouth for the other players to hear you.
With 16 hours of battery life, Logiteech really made charging the headset the least of our worries. The battery life is great, and we think it has a lot to do with the lack of flash that the headset has. No LED lights, means the battery can focus on the sound, and nothing else.
A great battery life, decent signal range, and a speaker system that is beyond superb in games, makes the Logitech G533 an awesome budget headset for every PC gamer. If only it had a 3.5mm jack, then we could recommend it to all gamers on every platform.
