If you are looking for a great film to watch for a Frightful Friday night on the couch with a bowl of popcorn or a pizza then we have you covered with a quick list of Netflix Movies. Netflix has some great original movies that we highly recommend you give a watch.

Annihilation

Released in early 2018, Annihilation is based on the novel of the same name by Jeff VanderMeer and stars Natalie Portman as she and a group of scientists enter an area called “The Shimmer”, a mysterious zone filled with alien life created when a meteor crashed to Earth. Annihilation has a great sense of mystery as the group enter this unknown territory and come face to face with deadly creatures and begin to question their own sanity. Cargo

Cargo is an Australian-based post-apocalyptic thriller set in a world where a virus has taken over people and turned them into zombies. Husband and wife, Andy and Kay are trying to live the most normal life possible in a sailboat when things go south. Andy is left to try and survive the dangers of the outback with his one-year-old daughter, Rosie.

Take your Pills

While this is more documentary than movie, Take Your Pills is an eye-opening piece of film that explores the positive and negative effects of Adderall and the way society has embraced this medication for work and school. The documentary follows the story of people who are currently on and have stopped taking the medication and how it has affected their lives.

Okja

Okja may seem like a heart-warming movie about a child and her pet pig but it is actually a very dark experience. It follows the story of Mija who grew up living with a super pig known as Okja. A multi-billion dollar company known as Mirando Corporation created these super pigs with the goal of seeing who in the world could raise the biggest one. Mija’s wins but little does she know the pig is just for slaughter. The movies follow her journey as she tries to save Okja from becoming meat and exposing the company for what it really is.

Mudbound

Set after World War II, Mudboud follows the story of two veterans who return home after the war to their rural farm in Mississippi only to discover that the world is now a different place. The men need to handle the weight of their family in a world rotten with racism, hatred and backstabbing. Mudbound is probably one of the best Netflix movies you can watch.

Lastly, because this list was quite a heavy to be honest, we have a new comedy to get excited about that streams today on Netflix. Some comedic legends get together for The Week Of.
