What Is Destiny 2: Forsaken?

Bungie releases a major expansion pack for Destiny once a year in September and like the first Destiny game, Destiny 2: Forsaken marks not only the release of major new content but also a large update that will change many of the much-requested features fans have been asking for. Destiny 2: ForsakenDestiny 2: Forsaken takes players through brand new locations and old ones too as players return to a similar area we last saw in The Reef. The expansion pack comes with new abilities, weapons, exotic gear, a brand new bow and arrow weapon, a PvPvE mode and of course a brand-new Raid. Think of Forsaken as a load of new content that will keep you busy for months to come.

After years of peace, you and Cayde-6 return to the Reef to discover that the galaxy’s most-wanted criminals in the Prison of Elders have organized an escape. Not only do you need to hunt them all down but you now need to face off against a new enemy type known as the Scorn.

Visit The Tangled Shore And Take Down the BaronsDestiny 2: Forsaken

The Tangled shore is where the majority of the game will take place. The Tangled Shore is not only a deadly area but it is also home to the new enemies known as the Scorn. These enemies are led by eight leaders known as the Barons. These eight deadly aliens each have their own unique look to them with some being masters of specific weapons and some of the specific elements. We are sure that most of the expansion will see us venture into the Tangled Shore to hunt down these eight leaders to weaken the grasp the Scorn have on the area.

New Weapons And Supers

Destiny 2 is nothing without its awesome range of weapons and abilities and the Forsaken expansion is no different. Each class will gain a new super ability which will add even more excitement to the combat. The Hunter will be able to toss powerful flaming knives at enemies, the Titan becomes a human electric ball capable of tossing himself across the arena and exploding into enemies and the Warlock gains a powerful Void attack that is almost like Stormcaller on steroids. This will see the Warlock teleport across the battlefield blowing things up everytime he appears.

Destiny 2: ForsakenDestiny 2: Forsaken will come with a brand new weapon type too, the bow and arrow. This is the first time we have seen a manual weapon included in the game and it will add a new level of strategy to the experience. You will have to be fast and precise to get your kills on and take into consideration wind-up time as well as arrow falloff. This will teach players new ways to tackle combat and open new opportunities in both PvE and PvP combat.

New Gambit ModeDestiny 2: Forsaken

While we are sure the story in Destiny 2: Forsaken will be a short and sweet one, its post-game content is where it will be put to the test. One interesting game mode is called Gambit and it seems to be Destiny 2’s answer to The Prison of Elders. Gambit will see you and two friends head into an arena to take down enemies in waves. These waves will get tougher the more you progress and you will have to survive the onslaught. What makes this different from the Prison of Elders is that you will also have other players to deal with at the same time. As you fight enemies you will collect currency which you will need to deposit into a bank. Reach a specific target and you will be able to stop the opposing team’s enemy spawn slowing their progress down. At times you can even jump into the other team’s arena and kill them. Obviously, the first team to get to the end of the arena wins so these distractions that you play on each other will be the test to see who can manage it all.

Fill Up Our Collections

Destiny 2: ForsakenIf you have ever wanted to know what you had obtained in Destiny and what you have missed out on then the September update will be for you. Bungie will be adding in a specific Collections feature that will show players every single item obtainable in the game ever. Think of it as a massive collection book of things you have found before and if you have not, you can set a path to go and find it. This includes everything from all the gear to the weapons and even emotes and ghosts.

Complete The Raid

Destiny 2: ForsakenOf course, we don’t know much about the new Raid right now other than it will take place on a new location called The Dreaming City. This new land will evolve over time and you will experience something new every month when you play the game. How this will affect the Raid is still a mystery but Bungie showed us a glimpse of the new area and it looks awesome. The best of all, it no longer takes place on the Leviathan which means players will have a fresh and exciting new experience while raiding compared to the past three raids that all took us to the same place. According to Bungie, the new raid will see us fight massive monsters and survive deadly traps. This is something we have been missing since Destiny 2’s release.

Destiny 2: Forsaken

And there you have it. We are sure there is much more planned for it but we will have to wait until September 2018 to see it in action.
