The Different Netflix Packages

There are currently 3 Netflix packages you can to subscribe to, namely:

  • Basic – R99 p/m;
  • Standard – R139 p/m;
  • Premium – R169 p/m.


The first thing you need to know is that the package you choose doesn’t affect the Netflix content you get. All subscribers have access to the full catalog of movies, documentaries, shows and more that Netflix has to offer. So choosing a package doesn’t affect your content options on Netflix. All subscribers can then take advantage of the awesome and vast content available on Netflix.

All subscription have support on various devices, however, not all can watch on these devices simultaneously.

Also, all of the subscriptions come with your first month free. So you’re able to try the service out for one month, before opting to start a subscription. You can cancel any of your subscriptions at any time, too. It doesn’t matter which package you chose to subscribe to.

The Difference In Packages

There are benefits to choosing different Netflix packages.

The two main differences between the package options are the quality of the streaming and how many devices can use one Netflix subscription.

  • Basic: Only one screen at a time can watch at SD resolution (480p);
  • Standard: Two screens can watch simultaneously, both at HD resolution (1080p);
  • Premium: Up to four screens can watch simultaneously, each at UHD 4K resolution (2160p).

With so many awesome shows and movies to watch, Netflix really is one of the best entertainment services out there.
