Red Dead Redemption 2 is out this Friday. If you’re like us, and simply cannot wait any longer, then we have you covered. To help build even more into the hype, we have put together a list of 10 things we cannot wait to do in Red Dead Redemption 2.
These range from the simple life experiences, to some gameplay features we have seen in trailers and cannot wait to give it a go ourselves.
Check out 10 things we cannot wait to do in Red Dead Redemption 2.
10. Download Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive game, which means the download size is just as big. On Xbox One alone, the game requires 107GB of storage and on PS4 it is 149GB. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the biggest game released this generation and the file size is proof of that.
9. Shoot Baddies
There are over 50 unique usable weapons in Red Dead Redemption 2 and a massive range of customization options for each of them. Different weapons use different ammunition and players will be drawn to using their preferred weapon type. The best part about the weapons system, is the more you use the gun, the better you will get at it. You’ll also need to look after your weapons, as they will degrade and lose reliability if you do not clean them and care for them.
8. Meet Fellow Bandits
In Red Dead Redemption 2, you take on the role of Arthur Morgan but the game has its fair share of characters that you will want to get to know. Your fellow bandits will grow on you as you play the game. The more you speak to them and get to know them, the better your relationship with them will get. You’ll be able to take on specific missions they give to you and even form long-lasting friendships with them. Think of them like your very own family.
7. Face The Wildlife
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in a huge open world, which will come to life in many ways. The wildlife is one of the ways Red Dead Redemption 2 is brought to life. There are 200 species of animals across the game, including birds and fish and each animal responds to the world in a different way.
6. Use The Camp system
Much of Red Dead Redemption 2’s gameplay revolves around you wandering the great American countryside with your fellow gang members. You will set up camp in different locations and move across the land as you progress the game. The camp system acts as your portable home where you will feed your horses, interact with your gang members and even play some mini-games. It will be the best way to pass time in the game and we cannot wait to experience it.
5. See The Horse’s Nuts For Ourselves
Yes, you did not read that title wrong. Horse’s balls in Red Dead Redemption 2 are a feature and you will never believe what you are about to read. In the game, the horse nut sacks have their very own physics which means they bounce around as any sack would. To make them even more awesome (we could not find a word for it), they also shrink and expand depending on the temperature of the world around you. If you are atop a mountain they will shrivel up but if it is hot they will dangle like a pack of naartjies. Okay, that is enough about horse testicles.
4. Rob Banks
As you are an outlaw in Red Dead Redemption 2, much of the game’s missions will revolve around you doing pretty illegal things. Robbing banks, hijacking trains and other western things. Much of the game’s foundation relies on action-packed missions that will draw you into the day and time of the game’s setting and we cannot wait to experience these for ourselves. The intense horse chases, gang shootouts, and dynamite-driven explosions, is what makes the Red Dead series so iconic and Red Dead Redemption 2 will be bigger and better than ever.
3. Take In The Beautiful World
Bustling cities, grassy plains, dry deserts and icy mountains. Red Dead Redemption 2 features one of the most detailed open worlds Rockstar Games has ever built and there is no doubt going to be a lot to see and do in them. Whether it is exploring the snowy hills or taking a breather next to a lake during sunset, we cannot wait to witness the beauty of the world and experience it in all its glory.
2. Experience The 60-hour Story
If you were wondering how long it would take to finish Red Dead Redemption 2, then worry no more. The game has a 60+ hour story campaign and that is only if you just follow the main story. Not to mention all the things to see and discover in the game and all the side missions that you can take on when you feel like it. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be that game you spend months in and when that is all said and done the Red Dead Online mode will keep you busy for just as long.
1. Do It All Again In First Person
Last but not least, is the ability to play the entire game in an FPS mode. GTA V was the first Rockstar game to offer a versatile camera option for those who enjoy FPS mode and third-person camera perspectives too. Red Dead Redemption 2 will follow suit with its own FPS mode, which means that everything you do in the game can be done from a first-person perspective. We will honestly only play the game in this mode as it just means we will be able to see the guns up close and personal.
Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on 26 October 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One.
