Adidas is on a mission to put pop culture on your feet. First, the world was gifted by Adidas with the Game of Thrones sneakers. Now, fans of the franchise that was started back in the 90s can rock Adidas Pokemon sneakers.
Leaked images have revealed what fans can be expecting from the Adidas Pokemon sneakers. The first two pairs of Adidas Pokemon sneakers, feature two of the most iconic Pokemon in the entire franchise.
Of course, Pikachu and Squirtle were the first to be turned into Adidas Pokemon sneakers. They’re both part of the Adidas Original Campus sneaker, sporting white uppers that are printed and embroidered with Pokemon details focused on each sneaker’s character. You can see the Adidas and Pokemon logos in big bold, 90s-style lettering on the tongue of the new sneakers.
Other classic Pokemon characters are expected to be released as well as part of the Adidas Pokemon sneaker collection. These could include classic Pokemon like Charmander, Bulbasaur, Togepi, and maybe even something crazy like a Meowth.
No news yet as to when we can expect these to drop, but when they do you better try to catch ’em all, because they will probably fly off the shelves. It’s expected that the Adidas Pokemon sneakers will be released closer to the release date of the upcoming live-action Pokemon movie, Detective Pikachu, which sees Ryan Reynolds portray the role of a talking Pikachu. This could give the Adidas Pokemon sneakers an extra hype boost in terms of creating hype. The movie hits cinemas on 10 May 2019, so maybe the Adidas Pokemon sneakers will be released then, too.
Other brands, like Fila have already released their Pokemon collaborations. Fila’s set of Court Delux sneakers feature Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Jigglypuff.
