Borderlands 3 is officially coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in the near future and we are super excited for the release. It has been over six years since we have had a new Borderlands game and we have missed the series dearly.
The Borderlands series invented the looter-shooter genre and it has caused a ripple effect, spawning games like Destiny 2, Division and much more. Borderlands is the mother of all RPG shooters and the third entry in the series will no doubt deliver the biggest, most badass experience in the series.
Take a look at five reasons why we cannot wait for Borderlands. 3
New Playable Classes
A new Borderlands game means new playable classes to choose from. Gearbox Software has confirmed the four new playable characters in the upcoming Borderlands 3 and we cannot wait to play the game four times to experience it with each one of them. The four characters are very different from each other with their own unique abilities and skills.
- Moze as THE GUNNER (Middle Right): When Moze needs backup she Digistructs her mech – Iron Bear – for a sucker punch of additional firepower.
- Amara as THE SIREN (Far Left): A confident, capable brawler with the ability to summon ethereal fists, Amara uses her Siren powers to smash her enemies.
- FL4K as the BEASTMASTER (Middle Left): FL4K lives for the hunt. So do the loyal beasts that follow their master’s every command. Their preferred prey? Unsuspecting bandits, those poor suckers.
- Zane as the OPERATIVE (Far Right): Specializing in battlefield gadgetry, Zane is extremely proficient at slipping into combat, creating chaos, and sneaking back out as if he were never there.
We will most likely give Moze a try first. Who does not want to mow down crazed psychos in a giant mech?
A Borderlands game is nothing without its awesome loot system and Borderlands 3 is bringing the guns, literally. So far we know that there will be new weapon types such as a mini-gun but the range of the craziness is making us even happier. According to Gearbox, we will be able to find guns that have legs and walk around and shoot themselves. Best of all, a new gun we learned about will let you toss it ahead of you and it walks around and screams insults at enemies while shooting them. Is that not the craziest thing you have ever heard?
But the madness won’t end there. We know Borderlands has some of the best guns in gaming and Borderlands 3 will no doubt take that to a whole new level with the crazy loadouts that we will spend countless hours trying to farm for that perfect roll.
So we think it is pretty much confirmed now that we will be visiting new worlds in Borderlands 3 and we cannot wait. Not that we are complaining. Borderlands and Borderlands 2 made sure to keep us very busy while we explored Pandora but a new location or two means new guns, new quests and of course, new enemies to mow down in our great quest.
We are quite excited to visit the metropolis which we got a glimpse of in the trailer. This skyscraper-littered city could be the location where we will finally learn more about the evil corporations that have been stealing all our money by making us revive in-game as well as costing us a fortune on guns such as ATLAS and Hyperion.
Yes, we know, how can we be happy for DLC? Those of you that have not played past Borderlands games might now know that the games have had some of the best DLC in gaming. Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep and not to mention all the Headhunter packs that added great value to the Borderlands 2 experience.
If Gearbox keeps its goodwill, we will be in for some great DLC drops in Borderlands 3. We know the game will be getting a Season Pass so there is DLC planned for it. Will it be giant story DLC or smaller DLC packs? We are not sure yet but if they release anything half as good as the Tiny Tina DLC, we will be happy.
There is just no other game like Borderlands and those who have played it would know this. It is the special combination of high-octane action, over-the-top humour, deep loot system, vast worlds to explore and lovable characters. Every Borderlands game relies heavily on all these mechanics and they all successfully deliver a unique experience every time.
We all know Tiny Tina, Lilith, Sir Hammerlock and Marcus. We all know those darn Skags and how to get rid of them and we all know that every moment of the game will be filled with us blowing something up, shooting crazy robots and Spiderants and listening to a hilarious radio comm while juggling grenades and throwing our weapons at enemies because it explodes like a grenade. It is those moments that make Borderlands just Borderlands and we can’t wait to see what the next game has in store for us.
Borderlands 3 is due for release on 13 September 2019 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Are you as excited as us?
