Game of Thrones released not one, but two new promotional trailers for the upcoming eighth and final season of the popular HBO show. There’s plenty to be excited about for the upcoming final season, which is set to air on 14 April 2019. A lot is riding on this final season, with the fate of the final few characters (which includes fan-favourite Jon Snow) to be decided, as well as the entire Westeros. Now, we have some more details on what to expect from the highly-anticipated final season, with two new promo trailers.
In the promotional trailer, called Survival, released for Game of Thrones season 8, there are theories now flying around that a moment fans have been waiting for since events started unfolding in season 7 of Game of Thrones – Jon Snow (portrayed by Kit Harrington) riding one of Daenerys Targaryen’s (portrayed by Emilia Clarke) remaining two dragons – has been digitally removed. In it, Jon Snow also proclaims that “we need to end this war” while reminiscing about where everything started and how only a few key players are left in the Game of Thrones.
The theory goes that because we see many staring up at the dragons flying over Winterfell (even some characters who have witnessed these dragons before), it’s not because of the dragons per se, but because Jon Snow is riding one of them and this is a pinnacle moment for the show.
Another promotional trailer was released, called Together. This time, instead of Jon Snow is not the only narrator, Tyrion Lannister (portrayed by Peter Dinklage) talks about how the characters “must fight together now, or die“. Although, we do hear Jon Snow warning that the enemy is dangerous and that “they are coming“.
