The Weeknd was apparently approached by the makers of HBO’s popular show. The popular artist then brought SZA and Travis Scott on board to create a song for the highly-anticipated final season of Game of Thrones. The song will apparently feature on the final season as part of the show, and won’t just be a track on the soundtrack which you never hear on the actual show.

The song is yet to be released by The Weeknd and co but has been rumoured for a while now, and it seems it has just been confirmed.

The Weeknd has previously collaborated with Travis Scott on a song called Wonderful which was released on Travis Scott’s 2016 LP entitled Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. Travis Scott and SZA have also collaborated on SZA’s debut studio album, CTRL with a single called Love Galore.

Now, the trio will be working their magic to bring us a song fit for the Seven Kingdoms.

The final season of Game of Thrones will be the shortest season yet, in terms of episodes. Instead of the usual 10 episodes, the upcoming season 8 will only have 6 episodes. Luckily each episode is pretty long, with HBO releasing the following running times for the 6 episodes of season 8 of Game of Thrones:

  • Episode 1 (April 14): 54 minutes;
  • Episode 2 (April 21): 58 minutes;
  • Episode 3 (April 28): 1 hour, 22 minutes;
  • Episode 4 (May 5): 1 hour, 18 minutes;
  • Episode 5 (May 12): 1 hour, 20 minutes; and
  • Episode 6 (May 19): 1 hour, 20 minutes.
