Fans of the popular YouTube creator (whose real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg) were devastated to learn that PewDiePie, who currently has over 103 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, is taking a break from posting for the first time in many years.

In his last video, uploaded about a week ago, PewDiePie reassured his fans that he is just taking a break and would eventually return to posting video and causing controversies. He claims that he is suffering from burnout and needs to take a break from his constant stream of content. He didn’t specify how long he would be on a break for.

But it seems that his fans might have been the very reason for him waiting to take a break in the first place. In a new interview, PewDiePie’s editor Sive has admitted that the fans can be a bit much. In fact, the actual words used to describe the fans of the popular YouTube creator by his editor are

The fanbase is big, I do feel some pressure but at the same time I try my best! People DM me, telling me I should be replaced. I’ve had people tell me, ‘You should be executed.’ PewDiePie fans are actually the most annoying fans ever. I love them but they’re so annoying.

Fans of PewDiePie, known as the Bro Army, have been involved in their own set of controversies with one fan infamously defacing a Word War II memorial site in order to gain more subscribers for the YouTube creator. The entire fan base is known to attack anyone who criticises the YouTube creator and are viciously loyal.
