Google brings free Turn-by-Turn navigation to the iPhone
One of the cooler things about Andriod, which now also works on the iPhone is that it comes with a free turn-by-turn GPS navigation app. Sure TomTom is great, but it costs around $100 (about 700 ZAR) to buy which is pretty freaking steap.
You would think this is something they would keep as a competitive advantage for their platform. But you would be ever so mistaken. In a press conference yesterday, Google announced that it will be bringing its free navigation turn-by-turn sat nav app to UK Android owners, as well as: to other smartphone platforms, including the iPhone, although they wouldn’t say when.
Not such a happy day for TomTom, but a great day for the rest of us!!
I just really hope this goes international quickly and that us iPhone users in South Africa can benefit from this sweet little app!
