So a there has been so much hype and mystery surrounding Apple’s new tablet device. Well yesterday they launched their new baby and they called it…wait for it…keep waiting…and i told you in a previous post that this name sucked big giant donkey nuts…the iPad. And there was silence in the crowd.

Apple’s Steve Jobs toyed with the audience before unveiling the new iPad tablet device, he says this thin new device is extraordinary and “the best web experience you’ve ever had.” The iPad is a half-inch thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds. It sports a 9.7-inch capacitive touchscreen IPS LCD display and runs Apple’s chip developed by P.A. Semi. It has YouTube, iTunes built in. There’s also built-in calendar (kind of like a datebook but also like the desktop OS X calendar). Its a bigger, way cooler iPhone. Yet I still want one, I dream about owning it.

The new iPad seems more Mac-like than iPhone-esque in functionality, BUT the portability aspect of this new super device is all iPhone. Some of you may have been worrying about the  keyboard, Jobs assured us it’s “easy” to use and type.
