Wow! So as correctly predicted, Apple have announced their latest addition to the digital history books. Its called the Apple iPad. We’ve been following the announcement very closely and have some great pics of Steve Jobs’ presentation courtesy of Engadget.

The iPad is to run on Apple’s own 1 GHz Apple A4 chip utiising 16 - 64GB of flash storage. The iPad will have both wireless LAN and bluetooth capabilities and features a 9.7 inc IPS LCD. We will follow up with a more indepth look at these features and what they mean for everyday usage, but for now it’s all about getting the initial info :)

So you can watch movies, play games, read news, read books and browse the web all from this magical device….

One of the big talking points for the iPad is its ability to run iPhone apps. Yes, that is correct, you can poponto the Apple AppStore and download from the massive database of existing apps. This also makes it easy for developers to create new apps specifically for the iPad. Apple has released the new SDK for developers today, so they will be able to begin customising apps for the iPad imeadiately (i’m sure someone has already created one.)

Many said that the iPad would retail for about $1000 but Apple have just announced it to be sold at $499! Click here for More info on the iPad.
