Nokia E-Cu uses heat to charge [UPDATED]
Say what? Yes you heard me right. Patrick Hyland a graduate from Central Saint Martins has designed this awesome Nokia handset, it’s a phone that doesn’t need a charger. The heat from being tucked away safely in your back pocket, or the heat from a lamp could be enough to keep your phone charged.
The name E-Cu is a combination of Environment and Copper (Cu in the periodic table in case Science wasn’t your forte in school). It seems that the phone has a layer of copper with “engraved heatsinks”. Essentially all this comes down to is that you would never need a charger. It looks GREAT and the fact that I always misplace my chargers means that this could just be the right phone for me.
For more information and images check out Patrick’s blog. Now lets all just pray to the cellphone gods and hope that this one gets made.
